Job Description

We are partnering with a US-headquartered design, engineering and construction management firm that is expanding its mission-critical capability across Australia.

Looking for a Preconstruction Manager to support the planning and development of complex data centre and mission-critical construction projects.

n

This role will suit a commercially minded construction professional who can bring together design, estimating, procurement and project delivery teams to ensure projects are properly planned before construction begins.

n

Key responsibilities:

n

n
- Lead preconstruction activities from early-stage planning through to construction handover
n
- Review design documentation, scopes of work and project requirements
n
- Coordinate input from consultants, contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders
n
- Support cost planning, estimating, value engineering and constructability reviews
n
- Develop procurement strategies, tender packages and bid evaluations
n
- Identify programme, design, commercial and delivery risks
n
- Assist with project schedules,



budgets and execution strategies
n
- Ensure preconstruction decisions align with client requirements and project outcomes
n

What we are looking for:

n

n
- Experience in preconstruction, estimating, project management or design management
n
- Exposure to data centres, mission-critical facilities or technically complex construction projects
n
- Robust understanding of construction methodology, procurement and commercial planning
n
- Ability to review technical drawings, specifications and project documentation
n
- Experience working with consultants, subcontractors and client-side stakeholders
n
- Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills
n
- A relevant qualification in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying or a related discipline
n
