About ACT Health Centre
n
Home to the Department of Defence Headquarters, Airforce Headquarters and Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) which is a tri-service military academy. The Health Centre opened mid-2022 and is a large facility. It services approximately 7000 military personnel, including trainee officers from both ADFA and Royal Military College. There is a 24-bed low dependency ward which operates 24/7. Services provided include primary medical, aviation & underwater medical, nursing, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and physiotherapy. Defence Force Recruitment for medical officers is in addition to health centre roles. Standard hours of operation are generally 0800-1600 Monday to Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on-call shifts).

This role is primarily Monday to Friday (day shift) within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
n
After-hours,
weekend and on-call shifts may be required depending on role requirements and base location.

What You'll Do
n
n
- Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members
n
- Occupational Medicine environment, conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care, in addition to injury management, chronic disease management and preventative health
n
- Support the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) DFR in the screening and assessment of the health suitability of applicants to join the Australian Defence Force (ADF)
n
- Provide clear verbal and written advice and recommendations to Defence Force Recruiting Centre (DFRC) medical practitioners regarding applicants' health suitability
n
- Make decisions regarding the health suitability of applicants to join the ADF
n
- Undertake case reviews and prepare findings in the required written format, including responses to requests such as ministerial complaints and internal audits
n
- Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount
n
n
What You Bring
n
n
- Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner
n
- FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration
n
- Minimum two years' GP experience in the last five years in a General Practice Setting
n
- Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
n
- Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)
n
- Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient‐centred care
n
