Job Description

Australian Industrial Supplies (AIS) are currently seeking an experienced Category Manager who has a solid focus on account management, marketing coordination, product selection and indenting to drive cost savings across this large industrial focused Co-Operative group.

You will be responsible for searching for the best product deals available, request indents from local suppliers and liaise with the AIS members on a daily basis. You will competently deal with key contract negotiations to deliver best outcomes for the group and meet the deadlines of the promotional plan.

This is a small Support Office to a network of independent industrial retail stores. If you have a passion for product, marketing and you can prove that your negotiation skills are better than the rest, then this is the role for you. This is a hands-on role and requires significant administration and deadline management in addition to supporting other areas of the business when required. There is some interstate travel associated with this role. We want energetic &proven; category managers to apply.

Duties

Negotiate beneficial supplier contracts and manage contract deadlines in the appropriate time period

n

Negotiate and present beneficial promotional offers to the membership

n

Development of beneficial product indents / house brand product offers

n

Major events representation and support

n

Supplier and member relationship building and support

n

Catalogue selection and administration

n

Skills and Experience

n

Experience in the DIY, Automotive or Industrial consumer goods environment advantageous

n

Attention to detail is critical in this role

n

At least 2 years involved in product selection for retail focused catalogues

n

Previous experience and proven results with product indents and product buying

n

Previous experience within a Cooperative or Buying Group model preferred

n

Quick to learn new product categories essential

n

Computer literacy in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

n

Excellent leadership and communication skills
