About the Role
n
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent's Representative to join a high-performing project delivery team in Mackay. This role is responsible for providing high-level contract administration and contract supervisory services across building and construction projects for Queensland Government.
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with solid contract administration experience who can effectively manage stakeholder relationships, monitor project performance and ensure compliance with contractual and legislative requirements.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide operational contract supervisory services on construction and engineering projects.
n
- Undertake regular site inspections to monitor project progress, quality, compliance, and contract performance.
n
- Coordinate and facilitate site meetings in accordance with established procedures.
n
- Issue Variation Orders and assess contractual claims.
n
- Manage and respond to Contractor Requests for Information (RFIs).
n
- Ensure completed works comply with contract documentation and project specifications.
n
- Prepare and manage defects lists and monitor rectification activities.
n
- Ensure Building Act compliance inspections are undertaken and appropriate records maintained.
n
- Provide advice and support to assist in administering dispute resolution processes.
n
- Apply and implement contract administration policies, procedures, and contractual provisions.
n
- Conduct post-contract performance evaluations and maintain accurate contractor performance records.
n
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders regarding cost, time, quality, and project risks.
n
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality assurance and operational processes.
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
n
n
- Experience in contract administration within building, construction, engineering, or infrastructure environments.
n
- Sound knowledge of traditional and non-traditional construction contract administration processes.
n
- Experience undertaking site inspections and monitoring contractor performance.
n
- Strong understanding of contractual obligations, variations, claims management, and compliance requirements.
n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
n
- Ability to identify, manage, and expedite cost, time, quality, and contractual issues.
n
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
n
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and project delivery.
n
n
Highly Desirable
n
n
- Experience administering government building and construction contracts
n
- Previous experience working in a Superintendent or Superintendent's Representative capacity.
n
- Knowledge of quality assurance, construction compliance, and regulatory requirements.
