About The Role
n
We are looking for Key Workers to deliver interventions to NDIS participants (specifically children aged 0-8) and their families that lead to positive, life-changing outcomes.
n
Availability and commitment to support before/after school appointments is essential, as this is the most highly requested time for Key Workers to provide therapy to their participants.
n
As a Key Worker at Everyday Independence, no two days will be the same. If you were here last week, these are some of the things you may have done:
n
n
- Working in the social model means you'll work and deliver therapy in diverse settings; from homes and schools to playgrounds, and community centres
n
- Attended a family's home to conduct their initial appointment, utilizing your assessment and communication skills to get to know them, their child and goals
n
- Worked collaboratively with a kinder teacher at a preschool to support a child to develop their motor skills
n
- Coached parents through finding a school that best suits their young child's needs
n
- Worked collaboratively with a Speech Pathologist and family members to support a child to develop their communication and social skills
n
- Built meaningful relationships with the participants and their supports (family, carers, friends)
n
- Documented, and billed for, each session through our online participant management system
n
- Provided support for a 5-year-old after school so that they can establish consistent routines
n
- Attended the weekly team meeting in the Hub; sharing stories of impact, coffee and laughs
n
- You'll have met with your Team Leader and Therapy Mentor to tap into their clinical knowledge and/or support
n
- Dropped into an online mentoring session to build knowledge of using Assistive Technology with a participant and some tips to introduce some behavioral support strategies
n

Who We Are Looking For
n

To work as a Key Worker, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification and registration.
n
n
- If you are an Occupational Therapist, you will have a degree in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA registration
n
- If you are a Physiotherapist, you will have a degree in Physiotherapy and AHPRA registration
n
- If you are a Speech Pathologist, you will have a degree in Speech Pathology and SPA registration
n
- If you are an Educator, you will have a Bachelor or Master's degree in Early Childhood Teaching or Special Education
n
- If you are a Social Worker, you will have a Bachelor or Master's degree in Social Work and eligible for AASW membership
n
n
You will also need:
n
n
- Minimum 12 months experience working with children (aged 0-8) and their families
n
- Demonstrated experience working with children with disability
n
- A positive and flexible approach to work
n
- Strong communication skills and be a team player
n
- Commitment to personal and professional growth
n
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
n
- Working with Childrens Check
n
- Availability and commitment to support before/after school appointments
n
