About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about environmental management and responsible resource development, and who enjoys working across a diverse range of exploration and mining projects.
You will work closely with our Exploration, Geology and Operations teams to support environmental planning and approvals across our projects. Your role will focus on environmental assessments, ecological constraints, regulatory compliance and providing practical environmental advice to ensure our exploration activities are undertaken responsibly and in accordance with relevant legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct environmental assessments to support exploration activities across multiple projects.
- Prepare environmental reports, management plans and supporting documentation for approvals.
- Undertake field assessments, including vegetation, habitat and environmental impact surveys.
- Assess and interpret environmental constraints, including Plant Community Types (PCTs).
- Provide environmental advice to exploration and operational teams throughout project planning and execution.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, landholders and external environmental consultants where required.
- Monitor environmental compliance and ensure activities align with relevant legislation and approval conditions.
- Assist with rehabilitation planning, environmental monitoring and water management programs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of environmental systems, processes and documentation.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- 10+ years' experience in an environmental science or environmental consulting role.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory approval processes.
- Demonstrated experience identifying and assessing Plant Community Types (PCTs).
- Experience supporting exploration, mining or infrastructure projects is highly regarded.
- Excellent report writing and technical communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Confident communicator who can work collaboratively with multidisciplinary technical teams.
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to responsible environmental management.
