About the role:

Our client, a chemical manufacturer, is currently seeking a Part-time Laboratory Technician (Chemistry) for an on-going casual contract. This role is starting immediately and requires you to be available to work 2-3 days per week. The position will report to the Lab Manager and be responsible for sample preparation and analytical testing of chemical products, using HPLC and ICP.

Skills & Experience:

n
- A cert IV in Lab Techniques, A Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering;
n
- Solid analytical and wet chemistry skills with exposure to HPLC, GC, ICP or other analytical instrumentation;
n
- Sound working knowledge of NATA, ISO and quality management systems within a laboratory environment;
n
- A strong understanding of laboratory safety is essential;
n
- Experience working with hazardous substances or in a high-risk workplace would be highly regarded;
n
- Your own reliable transport as this site is not accessible via public transport;
n
- The ability to work autonomously with a proactive approach.
