Experienced CHEF WANTED

We are seeking an experienced chef with previous experience in cooking for our quick-paced restaurant in Melbourne CBD. The successful applicant must be committed to our kitchen team on a daily basis.

n

You must also be a team player, have a positive attitude, and be responsible. You must be willing to work in a team environment and autonomously.

Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000 (plus superannuation)

Key Responsibilities (The Roles)

n

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

n

n
- Culinary Excellence: Prepare and cook a high-quality, produce-driven menu of Korean dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
n
- Prep & House-made Ingredients: Prepare sauces, marinades, stocks, and accompaniments from raw, fresh ingredients.
n
- Equipment & Kitchen Operations: Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment (stoves, fryers, grills) and assist with daily service setup and stock rotation.
n
- Quality & Inventory Control: Monitor cooking standards, portion control, and stock management to maintain freshness and minimize food wastage.
n
- High-Volume Coordination:



Work efficiently under pressure to coordinate food preparation and maintain output standards during peak service hours.
n
- Collaborative Culture: Thrive in an environment of teamwork and idea sharing, collaborating closely with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.

Skills & Qualifications (The Position Requires)

n

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success within a similar role or work environment:

n

n
- Have a right to work in Australia.
n
- Previous experience (at least 2 years) in a similar role with verifiable references.
n
- Cuisine Knowledge & Qualifications: Relevant commercial cookery qualification or equivalent industry experience, with strong knowledge of Korean or Asian culinary techniques.
n
- Must be fully available over a 7-day roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as reasonably required.
n
- Be able to work under pressure, highly organized, and efficient in high-volume settings.
n
- Workplace Standards & Teamwork: Strong commitment to food safety, hygiene, and health standards, paired with exceptional team-player skills.
n

The candidate must also have strong communication skills, show attention to detail, and be well presented and punctual.

n

Pay: $75,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
