Foreman / Pipe Layer | Company Ute & Permanent

Jack's Pipe & Civil is a civil drainage contractor working across Brisbane and South East Queensland.

n

Whether you're already a Foreman or you're an experienced Pipe Layer ready to take the next step, we'd love to hear from you.

n

We're looking for someone who enjoys being hands-on, takes pride in their work and wants to help lead and develop the people around them.

n

You'll work closely with both directors, who are still actively involved on site and understand the work from the ground up.

n

We put a lot of time into preparing jobs before they start. We look at how the work will be built, what materials are required, where problems may come up and how we can make things easier for the crew before excavation begins.

n

We also use GPS rovers, personalised trenching models and are developing new systems to help pipe crews better manage job information, materials, testing, progress and upcoming work.

n

We're not interested in doing things just because "that's how they've always been done". Every time something frustrates us on site, we ask, "How do we fix it so we don't have to deal with it again?"

We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys leading people and is always looking for a better way to get the job done.

The Role

n

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for leading and working alongside a civil drainage crew.

n

You'll still be expected to get on the tools, lay pipe, pour manholes and jump in wherever you're needed. That's how we operate, and it's how the directors work as well.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

n

- Leading and working alongside a civil drainage crew
n
- Laying sewer, stormwater and water mains
n
- Constructing manholes and pits
n
- Reading and interpreting construction plans
n
- Setting out trenches and levels
n
- Using GPS rover equipment
n
- Installing shoring systems
n
- Pressure testing water mains




n
- Completing concrete works
n
- Working safely around live services
n
- Operating plant and equipment
n
- Mentoring and developing younger crew members
n
- Maintaining a high standard of safety and workmanship
n

n

Essential Requirements

n

n
- Minimum 4 years' experience laying civil drainage pipelines
n
- Previous experience leading a crew, or the ability to step into a leadership role
n
- Solid experience across sewer, stormwater and water mains
n
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans
n
- Current Queensland Driver Licence
n
- Construction White Card
n
- Front End Loader Ticket
n
- Strong understanding of levels, grades and trench set-out
n
- Strong work ethic and pride in your work
n

Desirable Experience and Tickets

- Excavator or other machinery tickets
n
- Confined Space Ticket
n
- HR Licence
n
- Experience using GPS rovers
n
- Experience with shoring systems
n
- Experience constructing manholes and pits
n
