We are looking for a curious and analytically driven Data Scientist to join our team and transform complex datasets into actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. This role sits at the intersection of mathematics, statistics, programming, and business intelligence, requiring a candidate who can build and deploy sophisticated analytical frameworks including machine learning and AI solutions. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver with strong communication skills, capable of translating data-driven findings into transparent recommendations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
n

- Collect, prepare, and clean large datasets for analysis, identifying and resolving data anomalies, inconsistencies, and quality issues to ensure analytical integrity.
n
- Apply advanced analytical techniques drawing on mathematical, statistical, programming, and database skills to extract meaningful insights from structured and unstructured data.
n
- Design, build, and deploy machine learning and artificial intelligence frameworks that support automation, prediction, and pattern recognition across business functions.
n
- Develop, evaluate, and iteratively refine statistical models and algorithms to uncover trends, forecast outcomes, and generate actionable insights.
n
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and translate them into clearly defined data science problems and analytical solutions.
n
- Present data-driven findings, visualisations, and recommendations to key decision-makers and stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
n
- Contribute strategic input and innovation to the organisation's data science roadmap, identifying opportunities to leverage data for competitive advantage.
n
- Maintain and document data pipelines, modelling processes, and analytical methodologies to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing across the team.
n
- Monitor and assess the performance of deployed models, implementing updates and improvements as required to maintain accuracy and relevance.

- Support data governance and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and organisational data management policies.

Required Qualifications & Skills
n
n
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
n
- Demonstrated experience in a data science or advanced analytics role, with a portfolio of applied projects.
n
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, with experience in data manipulation libraries (e.g. pandas, NumPy) and machine learning frameworks (e.g. scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
n
- Strong understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning algorithms, and data mining techniques.
n
- Experience working with large datasets and familiarity with SQL and database querying.
n
- Ability to develop and evaluate predictive models, performing validation, tuning, and performance assessment.
n
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent libraries (e.g. Matplotlib, Seaborn).
n
- Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate complex findings into clear, business-relevant insights.
n
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills,
with experience presenting to non-technical audiences.
n
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and contribute effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
n

- Postgraduate qualification (Master's or PhD) in a quantitative or data-related field.
n
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, particularly for model deployment and data storage.
n
- Familiarity with MLOps practices and tools for model versioning, monitoring, and deployment pipelines.
n
- Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, or other specialist machine learning domains.
n
- Experience working within Agile or Scrum delivery frameworks.
n
- Relevant industry certifications in data science, machine learning, or cloud computing (e.g. AWS Certified Machine Learning, Google Professional Data Engineer).
n
- Prior experience in a relevant industry sector such as finance, healthcare, retail, or government.
n
