Monroe Australia is seeking an experienced and results-driven Production Supervisor to join our Clovelly Park, Adelaide manufacturing facility to support our continued growth.
n
This newly created leadership position will play a key role in establishing and leading our afternoon shift while supporting day shift operations to drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement across the site.
n
Reporting to the Plant Manager, this is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader with proven experience leading large production teams within a fast-paced, continuous manufacturing environment.

About the Role
n
As Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a workforce of 60+ employees, ensuring operational excellence through strong leadership, disciplined manufacturing processes, and a culture of continuous improvement.
n
You will be expected to drive Lean Manufacturing principles, improve production performance, eliminate waste, and develop high-performing teams while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and delivery.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
- Lead, coach, and develop a manufacturing team of 60+ employees across multiple production areas.
n
- Manage daily production schedules and resources to achieve operational targets.
n
- Drive accountability, engagement, and performance across all levels of the production team.
n
- Conduct performance management, employee development, succession planning, and workforce capability building.
n
Continuous Improvement & Lean Manufacturing
n
- Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the plant.
n
- Drive implementation and sustainability of: 5S Workplace Organisation, Lean Manufacturing Principles, Six Sigma Methodologies, 8D Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Kaizen and Continuous Improvement Programs
n
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve efficiency, increase throughput,
and minimise downtime.
n
- Facilitate continuous improvement projects and cross-functional problem-solving activities.
n
Operational Excellence
n
- Monitor and improve key manufacturing metrics including Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, Delivery Performance, Scrap and Rework
n
- Ensure production processes meet customer and business requirements.
n
- Drive adherence to standard work, operating procedures, and manufacturing disciplines.
n
- Lead investigations into quality concerns and production issues.
n
- Utilise structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D and Root Cause Analysis.
n
- Ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented and sustained.
n
- Champion a strong safety-first culture.
n
- Ensure compliance with all WHS legislation, company procedures, and safe work practices.
n
- Lead safety observations, investigations, risk assessments, and corrective actions.
n
- Build strong working relationships with employees, union representatives, and leadership teams.
n
- Create disciplines, accountability, and support systems aligned to Tenneco's P3 (People, Performance, Pride) Management System.
n
- Promote collaboration and teamwork across departments while developing future leaders within the business.
n
About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
n
- Minimum 5-10 years' experience in a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, or similar leadership role.
n
- Proven experience leading manufacturing teams of 60+ employees with excellent communication skills
n
- Experience working within a high-volume, continuous manufacturing environment.
n
- Strong experience implementing and driving Lean Manufacturing systems.
n
- Demonstrated experience with 5S Methodology, Six Sigma, 8D Problem Solving, Root Cause Analysis, Continuous Improvement Programs, KPI-driven manufacturing environments
n
- Solid understanding of manufacturing performance metrics and operational excellence frameworks.
n
- High level computer literacy is essential, with experience using SAP or a similar ERP system within a manufacturing environment highly regarded
n
Qualifications
n
- Recognised Trade Qualification and/or tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, Business, or related discipline.
n
Additional Skills
n
- Sound understanding of WHS legislation and safe work practices
n
- Flexibility to support both day and afternoon shift operations as required.
