About the role
n
As a Lead Educator, you will lead a team of educators to create engaging and responsive learning environments where children's curiosity, ideas, and interests drive the curriculum. Our inquiry-based approach values children as capable and competent learners, and we are looking for someone who can intentionally extend children's thinking through investigation, exploration, and collaboration.
n
This role also includes Responsible Person in Charge (RPIC) responsibilities when required, supporting the day-to-day management of the service, maintaining compliance, and providing leadership across the centre.
n
What you'll be doing
n
Lead and mentor a team of educators to deliver high-quality education and care.
n
Plan and implement an inquiry-based educational program that responds to children's interests, questions, and individual learning journeys.
n
Create rich learning environments that encourage exploration, critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving.
n
Foster strong partnerships with families through open communication and collaboration.
n
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment in line with the National Quality Framework (NQF) and centre policies.
n
Engage in reflective practice and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
n
Undertake Responsible Person in Charge (RPIC) duties when required, including supporting centre operations, compliance, staff leadership, and decision-making.
n
Collaborate with the Educational Leader and leadership team to strengthen curriculum and professional practice across the service.
n
What we're looking for
n
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent).
n
Previous experience in a Lead Educator or leadership role within an early childhood setting.
n
A strong understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and inquiry-based learning approaches.
n
Confidence in leading a team and mentoring educators.
n
Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
n
The ability to build genuine relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
n
A commitment to reflective practice and ongoing professional growth.
n
Flexibility to work between 6:15am and 6:00pm.
n
Current First Aid, CPR, Working with Children Check, and up-to-date Child Safety training.
n
