About the role

n

We have multiple openings available for highly skilled, experienced and motivated fitter & machinists to join our team at Beresfield, NSW. You will report to the Workshop Manager, and your role will include repairing and manufacturing new driveshafts. The ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues and work well within a team will be vital to the success of this role. You must be able to work independently, demonstrate strong initiative and be self-motivated. You must be able to pass a medical examination and drug and alcohol screening.

Responsibilities

n

Repair, manufacturing and welding of drive shafts

n

Use of dynamic drive shaft balancing machine, lathes, grinders etc.

n

Liaising with workshop staff as part of production process

n





Directing and mentoring trades assistants and apprentices where applicable

n

Contribute ideas on systems and improvements

n

Ensure work is performed in accordance with safety requirements

n

Any other associated tasks to meet the business needs within your capacity

n

Skills and Qualifications

n

Experience with Driveshafts preferred but not essential

n

Cert III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or Equivalent Qualification

n

Experience in using manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)

n

Welding skills and experience

n

Class C licence and reliable transport

n

LF High-Risk Work Licence to Operate Forklift Truck will be highly regarded

n

Dogging High-Risk Work Licence will be highly regarded

n

First Aid Certificate would be an advantage

n

To be successful in this role you will

n

Always maintain a high standard of workmanship and excellent attention to detail and precision

n

Excellent work ethic and previous good attendance record

n

High level of self-motivation required to complete tasks as soon as possible

n

Be an exceptional communicator and be able to work autonomously

n

Have good physical strength and stamina

n

Be willing to work overtime if required

n

Ensure workspace is kept clean, tidy and organised

n

Commitment to work in accordance with WHS rules and regulations, as well as company policies & procedures
