This is a key leadership opportunity to oversee the delivery of capital projects and engineering improvements that support one of Australia's largest underground zinc mining operations.

Based in Mount Isa, this residential position works a 9 day 5/2, 4/3 roster, with relocation assistance available for candidates and their families looking to make the move.

About the Role

n

Reporting to the Manager - GFM Maintenance, you will lead the Engineering Projects team responsible for delivering capital projects, engineering improvements and technical support across the George Fisher Mine.

n

Leading a multidisciplinary team across Mechanical, Electrical, Structural and Civil disciplines, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with operational priorities,



while fostering a high-performing engineering culture.

n

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong stakeholder engagement across operations, maintenance and technical services to deliver sustainable improvements across site.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Lead the Engineering Projects team to safely deliver capital and sustaining projects
n
- Prioritise engineering resources to meet operational and budget objectives
n
- Manage multidisciplinary engineering projects from concept through to delivery
n
- Support maintenance, reliability and operations with engineering expertise
n
- Coordinate engineering support for shutdowns and major maintenance activities
n
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across plant and infrastructure
n
- Manage engineering budgets, forecasting and project performance
n
- Build strong relationships across operations, maintenance and leadership teams
n

About You

n

You are an experienced engineering leader with a strong background in mining, maintenance or capital project delivery. You enjoy leading teams, influencing stakeholders and delivering practical engineering outcomes within an operational environment.

You will bring:

- Degree qualified Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
n
- Experience leading engineering, maintenance or capital project teams within mining
n
- Strong background delivering engineering projects in operational environments
n
- Proven people leadership and team development experience
n
- Budget management and project planning capability
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
n
- Knowledge of asset management and maintenance strategies
n
- Experience with SAP or similar CMMS platforms
n
- S1, S2 and S3 qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
n
