General Manager / Operations Manager - Construction

We're a small construction company looking for a hands-on General Manager to run day-to-day operations. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives under pressure, likes ownership, and can keep jobs, crews, and budgets on track - even when things get chaotic.

What you'll do

n

- Oversee daily operations across active job sites, crews, and schedules
n
- Manage budgets, vendor and subcontractor relationships, and material/supply logistics
n
- Hire, train, and lead field and office staff
n
- Track job costs, KPIs, and report directly to the directors
n
- Handle escalations, scheduling conflicts, and on-site issues calmly and decisively
n




- Improve systems and processes as we scale
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- 3+ years in construction operations, project management, or a similar leadership role
n
- Robust organizational and people-management skills
n
- Comfortable working in Xero and pulling/reading financial reports
n
- Level-headed under pressure - able to navigate tough conversations, tight deadlines, and stressful situations without losing composure
n
- Self-starter who solves problems without hand-holding
n
- Small-business mentality - no task too small
