Mick Hogan Excavations is a well-established civil construction contractor servicing regional Victoria and Southern NSW. We specialise in earthworks, irrigation infrastructure and civil construction and operate a diverse fleet of heavy machinery, trucks and light vehicles.

We're looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This is a hands-on role based in our workshop and onsite, responsible for keeping our fleet operating safely and reliably while mentoring our Diesel Mechanic Apprentice.

About the Role

n

Working in our workshop, you'll service, maintain and repair a wide range of plant and equipment used across our civil construction projects.

n

Excavators

n

Rollers

n

Tractors

n

Trucks

n

Utes

n

Trailers

n

Small plant and equipment

n

No two days are the same, with a mix of scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, fault finding and breakdown repairs - both in the workshop and onsite.

Key Responsibilities

n

Carry out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance.

n

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and engine faults.

n

Respond to breakdowns and minimise equipment downtime.

n

Coordinate repair priorities and maintenance schedules to ensure plant availability for upcoming projects.

n

Maintain accurate service records and workshop documentation.

n

Order parts and consumables as required.

n





Supervise, mentor and support our Diesel Mechanic Apprentice.

n

Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop.

n

About You

n

You'll have:

n

Trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.

n

Experience working on heavy earthmoving or civil construction equipment.

n

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.

n

Experience with hydraulic systems and diesel engines.

n

Current driver's licence (HR licence advantageous).

n

Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with the management team.

n

Pride in producing quality workmanship.
