Thornton Engineering are currently looking to recruit an experienced and qualified Painter to join their team in Corio VIC. The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

n

n
- Surface preparation of steel for painting, safely using chemicals and a range of hand tools
n
- Clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill dents or otherwise prepare fabricated steel items for application of paint and or other protective coatings.
n
- Operate various equipment, such as blast pots and spray guns
n
- Knowledge of various painting methods and applications
n
- Sandblasting, abrasive and chemical techniques, masking and etching of applications.
n
- Ability to read and interpret blueprint, sketches and drawings
n




- Safe operation of tools and equipment
n
- Grinding, sanding and polishing of steel
n
- Understanding of painting, caulking and sealing and putting them in to practice
n
- Ability to apply all types of coatings using various application methods
n

Skills & Abilities:

n

n
- Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application or relevant
n
- Ideally have 3 years' experience within relevant or similar field
n
- Ability to work in a team workplace
n

n

Salary range is $70,000-$95,000pa commensurate with experience Fulltime Position available Applications open on 29th July 2026 and closes on 29th August 2026
