Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation delivering primary health care services to the Aboriginal people in Katherine and surrounding communities. Wurli operates a range of clinics and provides a range of primary health care and other services which include main clinic (acute and general care), Gudbinji Chronic Disease Clinic, Women and Children's Health and Men's Health.

The role of a General Practitioner provides medical services to clients of the Wurli-Wurlinjang Health Service and to contribute to the development and sustained operation of a multidisciplinary primary health care team. General Practitioners are expected to deliver medical services in accordance with Wurli policies and procedures, guided by evidence-based national guidelines, applicable legislation and regulations, and general practice accreditation standards.

Key Requirements of Service Delivery include:
n
Provide clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment for clients
n
Develop management plans for acute and chronic conditions
n
Order and review diagnostic tests and provide follow-up care
n
Provide health education and emergency care when required
n
Work collaboratively with Aboriginal Health Practitioners,
nurses and allied health professionals
n
Participate in quality improvement activities, clinical governance and service development
n
Support teaching and supervision of GP registrars, medical students and developing practitioners
n

Key Features of the Role:

Based in Katherine, Northern Territory
n
Works alongside a dedicated primary healthcare and wellbeing teams. In so doing, demonstrates respect for other allied health professional roles.
n
Supervision of training health professionals including but not limited to GP Registrars and Medical Students.
n
An ordinary working week of 37.5 hours; Monday to Friday.
n
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
n
Qualifications / Prerequisites:
n
Medical Degree / Vocationally Registered General Practitioner (VRGP)
n
Eligible to be an accredited GP Registrar Supervisor
n
Satisfactory National Police Records Check and Working with Children's Clearance
n
Current Northern Territory Driver's License
n
Applicants must be fully registered to practice in Australia via AHPRA and provide evidence of their AHPRA registration with their application.
