We are seeking an experienced Café Shift Supervisor to support the Site Manager in the day-to-day operation of this busy venue. This is a hands‐on leadership role suited to someone who leads by example, thrives in a fast‐paced environment, and is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service while developing a high‐performing team.

- A 68-seat outdoor dining area

- Cafe counter offering in person and QR Code ordering

- A high-volume Grab & Go café/bar

About the Role
n
Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth daily operations across all front‐of‐house areas. You will assist with leading the team, maintaining exceptional service standards, and creating a positive experience for every guest.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Support the Site Manager in the day-to-day operation of the café, restaurant, Grab & Go service, and functions.
n
- Lead and supervise Front of House team members during your allocated shifts.
n
- Ensure exceptional customer service is consistently delivered across all service areas.
n
- Coordinate daily service, allocate staff responsibilities, and monitor workflow.
n
- Provide coaching, training, and ongoing support to team members.
n
- Assist with onboarding and developing new employees.
n
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve complaints professionally and efficiently.
n
- Support stock control, ordering, and inventory management.
n
- Ensure food safety, RSA, workplace health and safety, and company policies are followed.
n
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and end-of-day reconciliation.
n
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service.
n
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and venue readiness at all times.
n
- Act as the Site Manager in their absence when required.
n

About You
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- Previous experience in a hospitality supervisory or team leader role (essential).
n
- Experience working in high-volume cafés, restaurants, tourism venues, or similar environments.
n
- Outstanding leadership and people management skills.
n
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
n
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
n
- Excellent communication and problem‐solving abilities.
n
- Experience with POS systems and cash handling.
n
- Current RSA Certificate (essential).
n
- Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and peak tourism periods.
n
- Full Australian working rights, ability to be based near the Great Ocean Road.
n

Desirable
n
n
- Hold First Aid and Food Safety Supervisor certificates.
n
- Multi‐outlet or kiosk/counter‐service experience.
n
- Experience in tourism or large‐volume hospitality operations.
n
- Coffee making is highly regarded.
n
- Multilingual skills are an advantage, as we welcome visitors from around the world.
