Senior Lawyer, Regulation

Working alongside government agencies, regulators and industry participants, you will play a key role in shaping nationally consistent regulatory outcomes.

This is a unique prospect for a capable lawyer to work on complex legal, regulatory and policy matters that have a national impact. You will advise on legislative and regulatory frameworks, contribute to reform initiatives, undertake detailed legal analysis, and engage with a broad range of stakeholders across multiple Australian jurisdictions.

Reporting to a senior regulatory leader, you will:

- Provide legal, regulatory and policy advice on complex and evolving issues.
n
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of national regulatory frameworks.
n
- Undertake legal research, statutory interpretation and policy analysis.
n
- Prepare legal advice, submissions, briefing papers, consultation materials and recommendations.
n
- Contribute to legislative and regulatory reform projects.
n
- Build relationships with government agencies, regulators, industry stakeholders and external advisers.
n




- Monitor emerging legal and regulatory developments and provide strategic recommendations.
n

About You

n

You are an admitted lawyer with strong legal analysis, drafting and stakeholder engagement skills.

n

You may have gained your experience in:

n

n
- Government legal practice
n
- Regulatory or administrative law
n
- Commercial or corporate law
n
- In-house legal teams
n
- Policy and legislative reform
n
- Regulatory compliance
n
- Property, infrastructure, financial services or other regulated industries
n

n

You will ideally bring at least five years post-admission experience and enjoy working on complex legal issues involving legislation, regulation, policy development and stakeholder engagement. Experience within a regulator or government environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.
