Garstone Design is a proudly Australian manufacturer of premium leather furniture. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and reliable Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our production team.

This is a permanent full-time position within a up-to-date manufacturing environment, producing high-quality leather and fabric furniture for customers throughout Australia.

n

Working Hours

n

Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm

n

Friday: 7:00am – 1:30pm

n

About the Role

n

You will operate industrial sewing machines to manufacture leather and fabric furniture covers to a consistently high standard. Our products are precision-made using detailed patterns and production drawings.

n

As this is a specialised trade, you will receive training in our products and sewing methods. However, applicants should be comfortable working in a production environment where quality, accuracy and productivity are all important.

Primary Duties

n

n
- Sew leather and fabric furniture covers using industrial sewing machines
n
- Assemble pre-cut upholstery components
n
- Sew zippers, piping, trimmings and other upholstery components
n
- Operate industrial lockstitch and overlock sewing machines
n
- Follow production drawings and work instructions
n




- Produce high-quality work while meeting production standards
n

What We're Looking For

n

n
- Experience operating industrial sewing machines is preferred
n
- Experience in upholstery, furniture, automotive trim, canvas, marine, caravan or similar industries is highly regarded
n
- Strong attention to detail
n
- Reliable, punctual and committed to long-term employment
n
- Ability to work efficiently in a manufacturing environment
n
- Willingness to learn our specialised furniture sewing techniques
n
- Pride in producing quality workmanship
n
- Ability to work well within a team
n
- Applicants with exceptional home sewing experience who are confident using sewing machines and are committed to learning industrial production sewing are also encouraged to apply.
