ROLE – Design Manager

SALARY - $160,000 - $200,000 per annum, dependent on experience

TYPE – Permanent

LOCATION – Adelaide, SA

My client is a leading engineering business who deliver material handling projects. They are looking for an experienced Design Manager to join their team in Adelaide.

Attributes

n

n
- A background in Mechanical Engineering, Design and Project Management
n
- Previous experience in materials handling, construction, mining, minerals processing or a similar heavy engineering environment
n
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
n
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and delivering complex engineering projects
n
- Robust understanding of engineering design processes, standards and quality assurance
n
- Experience using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo or similar
n
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage budgets, resources and project schedules
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Able to mentor, develop and support engineering teams
n




- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance technical excellence and project objectives
n

Role Responsibilities

n

n
- Leading and managing a small design team across multiple engineering projects
n
- Full design lifecycle from concept through to manufacture, installation and commissioning
n
- Reviewing and approving engineering designs, calculations and technical documentation
n
- Working closely with project managers, clients and other engineering disciplines to ensure successful project delivery
n
- Ensuring compliance with relevant engineering standards, company procedures and quality requirements
n
- Supporting the development and continuous improvement of engineering processes and design standards
n
- Providing technical guidance, mentoring and leadership to engineers and designers
n
- Managing design risks, resolving technical challenges and driving innovative engineering solutions
n
- Supporting business growth through client engagement, proposal development and technical input where required
