Job Description

Mitchdowd is a leading fashion and lifestyle brand, and we are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Production Manager to oversee the production lifecycle within our clothing wholesale business. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in production management, with a focus on order placement, production monitoring, and ensuring on-time delivery to major retailers. This role demands exceptional organisational skills, effective communication, and the ability to work closely with both internal teams and external suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

Order Placement

Collaborate with sales, product development, and design teams to understand production requirements and ensure alignment with customer needs.

Place production orders with factories, ensuring accuracy in specifications and timelines.

n

Negotiate production terms, lead times, and pricing with suppliers to achieve optimal outcomes.

Production Monitoring

n

Manage production schedules to meet customer demand and delivery deadlines.

n

Maintain regular communication with factories to monitor production progress and proactively address any issues.

n

Support quality control efforts to ensure all clothing items meet high standards.

n

Delivery Management

n

Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely and productive delivery of finished products.

n

Identify and resolve potential production or shipping delays, ensuring smooth workflow from factory to warehouse.

Communicate delivery timelines and updates to relevant stakeholders, including sales and customer service teams.

n

Shipping Documentation

n

Oversee the receipt and processing of all shipping documentation from factories, ensuring compliance with requirements.

n

Verify the accuracy and completeness of shipping documents to facilitate smooth customs clearance.

n

Work closely with the logistics team to manage all documentation for shipments.

n

Factory Payment Register

n

Maintain and update the factory payment register, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.

n

Process factory invoices promptly, adhering to payment terms and resolving any discrepancies with the finance team.

n

Key Qualifications and Skills

Proven experience in production management within the clothing or textile industry.

n

Strong negotiation and communication skills, with a network of supplier contacts.

n

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with an ability to meet tight deadlines.

n

Familiarity with quality control processes, shipping protocols, and social/technical compliance requirements.

n

Proficiency in using relevant order management and tracking software.

n

Detail-oriented, with a focus on accuracy and precision in managing production processes.
