About the Opportunity

n

A Full-Time position is available for a Registered Mental Health Nurse at Fulham Correctional Centre. Part-Time opportunities may be available upon discussion.

n

Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the primary objective of the Registered Mental Health Nurse is to enhance suicide prevention programs and strategies at the Fulham Correctional Centre.

n

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

n

n
- Define and maintain the standard of nursing practice within the Correctional Centre
n
- Develop mental health nursing care plans for prisoners with a P rating
n
- Coordinate and undertake physical and mental health assessments on all new receptions entering the Correctional Centre
n
- Develop and implement suicide / self-harm strategies and regularly assess their effectiveness
n

Salary on offer:

n

n
- Full-Time 109,452.94 p.a.
n
- Part-Time $52.62 p/h
n

Skills & Experience

n

To succeed in the role, you will possess the following:

n

n




- Completed Psychiatric Registered Nurse training
n
- Current AHPRA registration
n
- Qualified post graduate experience as a Psychiatric Nurse
n
- Competence in the performance of medical emergency, physical assessment, crisis intervention, medical & psychiatric nursing care and venipuncture preferable
n
- Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing psychiatric evaluations
n
- Providing appropriate follow through treatment
n
- Demonstrated knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, GEO's Aff
