About the Role
n
The Database Administratorwill play a critical role in ensuring the stability, performance, and security of enterprise database environments supporting mission-critical systems. This is a hands-on technical position focused on managing PostgreSQL and MongoDB databases within secure, compliance-driven environments.
n
You will work closely with technical and development teams to optimise performance, maintain data integrity, and support complex operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration
n

- Maintain and administer database systems, including PostgreSQL and MongoDB
n
- Monitor database performance and optimise queries, indexes, and configurations
n
- Perform database backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning
n
- Maintain database security policies, access controls, and compliance standards
n
- Plan and execute database upgrades, patches, and migrations
n
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide technical support to development teams
n
- Create and maintain database documentation and schemas
n

About You
n
You are a proactive,
technically strong Database Administrator who enjoys working in secure, structured environments and taking ownership of complex systems.
n
Required Skills & Experience
n
n
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
n
- 5+ years' experience in database administration
n
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL
n
- Experience working with MongoDBor other NoSQL databases
n
- Solid understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
n
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or SQL
n
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
n
- Willingness to travel within Australia to customer or partner locations, including secure sites
n
- Australian citizenship with an AGSVA NV2 security clearance
n
n
Desirable Experience
n
n
- Relevant database or infrastructure certifications
n
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
n
- Familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
n
- Experience using monitoring tools such as Splunk
n
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
n
n
