About Us?

The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
n
The Allied Health team will provide culturally appropriate clinical care and supportive health care services to contribute to sustainable changes in the health outcomes of clients through inter-professional collaboration and partnerships with local stakeholders, and organisations.

About the Role?
n
Your role as a Podiatrist will be to provide direct culturally appropriate podiatry services to the community as part of a multi- disciplinary team/program. You will be required to work across multiple clinic locations and contribute to new and existing initiatives to further develop the Podiatry model. We have both full time and part-time positions available!
n
Working within the IUIH model of care, you will be required to:
n
n
- Provide clinical services to clients and appropriate clinical care including biomechanical, general care, surgery, diabetic foot care, paediatric, community education and provision of orthotics and appropriate footwear.
n
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals including allied health, GPs, Aboriginal Health Workers, Care Coordinators and more.
n
- Liaise with health professionals including General Practitioners on patient care and provide reports to referring GPs in accordance with Medicare requirements.
n
- Ensure information is recorded accurately and in a timely manner in the electronic health record system, and that records are maintained in accordance with AGPAL standards.

- Ensure maintenance of privacy and confidentiality in relation to client information

About You?
n
n
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
n
- Current AHPRA Registration
n
- Current Disability Workers Screening Check - required prior to commencement
n
- Current First Aid & CPR Certificates
n
- Bachelor of Podiatry or equivalent
n
n
Desirable, but not mandatory:
n
n
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
n
n
