We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, driven and collaborative Payroll Officer to join Stoddart Group on an immediate start basis. Based at our Head Office in Darra, QLD, this hands-on role will support the delivery of accurate, compliant and efficient payroll services across a diverse workforce, with no direct team management responsibilities.

With purpose, respect and a driven mindset, you'll contribute by:
n
Accurately process weekly and fortnightly payrolls, ensuring employees are paid correctly, compliantly and on time.
n
Respond to and resolve employee and manager payroll queries, escalating complex matters where required.
n
Maintain employee records, payroll data and electronic files, including new starter set-up and ongoing data integrity.
n
Support payroll compliance activities including PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, STP, awards, enterprise agreements and relevant employment obligations.
n
Assist with month-end, year-end, reconciliations, reporting, audits and payroll-related compliance requirements.
n
Administer and support MicrOpay and HRIS platforms, including pay rule maintenance, system updates, testing and process improvements.
n
Partner with Finance, People & Culture, IT and Operations to improve payroll processes, reporting, governance and workforce data management.
n
Support workers compensation calculations,
long service leave and portable long service leave requirements where required.
n
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance payroll accuracy, efficiency and the employee experience.

Here's what you'll need to thrive in this role:
n
Minimum 3+ years' payroll experience in a similar role, ideally within construction, manufacturing, or another multi-site, project-based environment.
n
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, with the ability to confidently interpret and apply different awards, enterprise agreements, payroll tax, superannuation, STP and employment compliance requirements.
n
Previous Micropay experience, with the ability to maintain accurate payroll data and support system improvements.
n
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, with strong reconciliation, reporting and analytical capability.
n
A methodical approach with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and record keeping.
n
Strong communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
n
A proactive, collaborative and customer-focused approach, with the ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities.
n
Previous involvement in the implementation, setup, or migration of Employment Hero Payroll will be highly regarded.
