Job Description

We are a well-established leader in the automotive battery industry. We are seeking an experienced and dependable MC Driver to join out transport team based in Yatala.

About the Role

n

This role involves operating company prime movers and B-double trailers to transport new and used batteries between our Yatala Distribution Centre, regional Queensland depots, and major interstate warehouses, including our main warehouse.

n

You will be working with a modern Prime Mover (AMT transmission) featuring a spacious sleeper cabin and will play a key role in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient transport operations.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Transport batteries between Yatala, regional Queensland depots, and some interstate warehouse locations.

n

Conduct vehicle inspections for mechanical and safety issues and carry out basic preventative maintenance.

n

Plan delivery routes and ensure schedules are met efficiently.

n

Maintain accurate records including work/rest periods, kilometers travelled, fuel receipts, and toll documentation.

n

Ensure all transport and delivery documentation is completed correctly prior to departure.

n

Comply with all road transport regulations including load restraint, fatigue management, route compliance, and vehicle weight restrictions.

n

Safely manoeuvre trucks into loading and unloading areas.

n

Follow all company policies, procedures, and WHS/OHS requirements.

n





Verify delivery instructions and ensure freight is handled safely and securely.

Skills and Experience

n

Must hold a current MC license with a minimum of 3 years' experience with B-double trailers.

n

Holds a current Dangerous Goods driver's license.

n

Experience in long distance and interstate transport operations (preferred).

n

Willingness to stay overnight in the truck for up to 2 nights per week.

n

Must have a good driving record.

n

Competent and experienced with load restraint.

n

Solid understanding of CoR and other NHVR requirements

n

Good understanding of WHS/OHS procedures.

n

Some mechanical knowledge and experience to be able to keep the prime mover and trailer clean and in good working condition.

n

Reliable, physically fit, and hardworking attitude.
