RADIATION ONCOLOGY Clinical Research Fellow - Full Time (Fixed Term)

This position is governed by the DiT EBA Agreement for Victorian Hospitals with an above award payment
Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the position of Radiation Oncology Clinical Research Fellow at the Austin Health Radiation Oncology department. We are seeking interested applicants commencing on the:

- 1. 12/07/27 to 16/07/28 (12mths)
- 2. 30/08/27 to 3 September 2028 (12mths)
- 3. 30/08/27 to 3 September 2028 (12mths)

About the department

Austin Health Radiation Oncology is part of the Olivia Newton John Cancer Wellness Centre on the Austin Campus at Heidelberg. The Austin Heidelberg campus is a major tertiary care hospital in Melbourne, Australia. Our department provides a full range of radiation oncology services to meet the diverse needs of the cancer patients, including subspecialist expertise in gynaecology and head/neck tumour streams.

Radiation Oncology at the Austin is accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists to provide Radiation Oncology Specialist Training Program and is part of the statewide training programme that comprises of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, The Alfred and Geelong Hospital.

About the role





We’re interested in hearing from motivated young doctors who want to learn a particular technical skill (e.g. brachytherapy, MR guided radiotherapy) or specific tumour stream experience. You will be expected to undertake research and will be supported and mentored in the experience.

Clinical

Direct responsibility for management of patients referred for Radiation Oncology opinion and treatment, including simulation, planning and ongoing review of all patients treatment progress.

Participation in multidisciplinary clinics to identify suitable clients for participation in clinical research.

Teaching, Education & Research

Develop and utilise your skills in research within our clinical and technical programmes

Participate in medical undergraduate and postgraduate education in Radiation Oncology.

Participate in, and foster, quality improvement and research activities within the Department, Cancer Services and the Medical Centre

Quality Assurance

Participate in the comprehensive Quality Assurance Program in Radiation Oncology for both research and clinical activities

You’ll further have:

Applicants must be eligible for medical registration with Australia (AHPRA), and hold (or expected to have passed appropriate exams for) Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (Radiation Oncology) at commencement.

- This position is designed to support an interested applicant undertaking a research higher degree with a maximum tenure of two years by reapplication.
