Yaama Civil and Constructions Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and experienced Excavator Operator to join our growing team in Newcastle, NSW. As an Excavator Operator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects, utilising your expertise to operate and maintain excavation equipment effectively and safely.

What you'll be doing

n

Bulk excavation, detail excavation, filling of trenches and ensuring compaction. Adhering to levels and required set out to complete works on tier 2 sites.

n

Operate a range of excavation equipment, including hydraulic excavators, to complete a variety of tasks such as site preparation, trenching, and land clearing

n

Ensure the efficient and safe operation of excavation equipment, adhering to all relevant safety guidelines and regulations

n

Perform routine maintenance and inspections on assigned equipment to maintain optimal performance and lifespan

n

Work closely with the construction team to understand project requirements and execute tasks in a timely and coordinated manner

n

Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting secure practices and continuous improvement

n

What we're looking for

n

Significant experience (3+ years) as an Excavator Operator in the construction industry

n





Proficient in the operation of hydraulic excavators and other heavy equipment

n

Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

n

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills to address equipment and site challenges

n

Commitment to safety and a track record of safe work practices

n

Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with the construction team

n

Valid driver's licence and appropriate heavy vehicle licences/certifications

n
