Leading Hand Carpenter / Junior Site Foreman

AJP Constructions is an award-winning Sydney building company specialising in high-end architectural homes and CLT construction.

n

We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand Carpenter to join our team and assist with the day-to-day delivery of premium residential projects across Sydney.

n

This role would suit a highly skilled carpenter who is ready to take greater responsibility on site and progress toward a Site Foreman or Site Manager position.

n

The role

n

Working closely with the Site Foreman and Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Leading and coordinating carpenters, apprentices and labourers
n
- Assisting with daily site planning and construction programming
n
- Completing high-quality carpentry and detailed construction work
n
- Coordinating subcontractors, deliveries and site activities
n
- Reading and interpreting architectural and construction drawings
n
- Monitoring workmanship, quality and construction details
n
- Ensuring the site remains safe, clean and well organised
n
- Identifying potential issues and communicating them to the Site Foreman
n
- Assisting with material orders, site measurements and forward planning
n
- Helping maintain project deadlines and quality standards
n

About you

n

The successful candidate will have:

n

n




- Trade qualification in carpentry
n
- Strong experience in high-end residential construction
n
- Previous Leading Hand, Senior Carpenter or supervisory experience
n
- Excellent carpentry and construction knowledge
n
- Confidence reading architectural and structural drawings
n
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
n
- Good communication and leadership skills
n
- A proactive and organised approach to work
n
- Current White Card and driver's licence
n
- Full Australian working rights
n

n

Experience with architectural homes, detailed finishes, CLT, engineered timber or complex residential projects would be highly regarded.
