The Opportunity
n
We are looking for a Maintenance Area Lead to join our team at our Lavington Campus to support our Riverina Murray Region communities.
n
Duties will include (but not limited to):
n
Maintenance Operations
n
n
- Lead and coordinate maintenance services across multiple sites, ensuring consistent service delivery standards.
n
- Oversee the delivery of maintenance services, including prioritisation and timely completion of work orders.
n
- Drive execution of preventative and corrective maintenance programs to ensure asset reliability and minimise reactive works.
n
- Monitor service delivery performance, including backlog levels, response times and completion rates.
n
- Identify operational risks and elevate issues impacting service continuity.
n
- Provide hands-on operational support to maintenance teams.
n
n
Asset Management & Systems
n
n
- Lead the effective use of the asset management system to support maintenance planning, tracking and reporting.
n
- Maintain accurate asset registers, maintenance schedules and work order data.
n
- Monitor and report on key maintenance KPIs, including:n n
- Backlog management
n
- Response times
n
- Asset lifecycle performance
n
n
- Analyse maintenance data to support decision-making and improve asset outcomes.
n
- Drive consistent system usage and data quality across all sites.
n
n
Financial & Budget Management
n
n
- Manage maintenance budgets across multiple sites.
n
- Monitor expenditure and implement cost-saving opportunities through proactive maintenance strategies.
n
- Support budget planning, forecasting and financial reporting.
n
- Ensure financial accountability across maintenance operations.
n
n
Workforce Leadership & Planning
n
n
- Plan and coordinate maintenance resources across multiple sites.
n
- Manage workforce coverage to maintain service continuity during leave, vacancies and changing operational demands.
n
- Identify resourcing gaps and implement appropriate solutions.
n
- Support workforce planning aligned to operational requirements.
n
- Lead, coach and develop maintenance teams to achieve consistent performance outcomes.
n
- Manage employee performance, capability development and engagement.
n
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety and continuous improvement.
n
- Provide leadership to ensure consistent standards, behaviours and service delivery.
n
- Support recruitment and onboarding of maintenance personnel.
n
n
Contractor & Vendor Management
n
n
- Manage contractor and supplier relationships across the portfolio.
n
- Monitor contractor performance against service level agreements and compliance requirements.
n
- Coordinate contractor engagement in line with organisational standards.
n
- Support the development and maintenance of preferred supplier arrangements.
n
n
Continuous Improvement
n
n
- Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance and asset management strategies.
n
- Identify and implement improvements to systems, processes and service delivery.
n
- Support organisational initiatives relating to infrastructure, sustainability and capital works.
n
n
Work Health & Safety (WHS)
n

- Ensure compliance with all relevant WHS legislation, policies and procedures.
n
- Participate in WHS activities and training as required.
n

Required

- Current Driver Licence
n
- Trade certificate or relevant technical qualification
n
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-site maintenance or facilities operations
n
- Experience using asset management systems (e.g. FM Clarity or similar)
n
- Strong data analysis and performance reporting capability
n
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with hands-on operational support
n
- Financial and commercial acumen
n
- Proven leadership experience managing maintenance teams across multiple sites, including performance management, coaching and workforce development
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- Ability to interpret and apply legislative, regulatory and compliance standards relating to building maintenance
n
- Ability to implement preventative and corrective maintenance programs (within scope of practice)
n
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
n
- Solid problem-solving, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
n
- Strong organisational and time management skills
n
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility, initiative and adaptability
n
- Ability to manage change effectively
n

- Experience in aged care, health or other regulated environments
n
- Experience coordinating contractors and supporting compliance, audit or asset management activities
n
- LR (Light Rigid) or higher driver licence
n

- Vaccinations in accordance with organisational policy

- Satisfactory Criminal History Check and other required screening checks (including renewals)

- Compliance with uniform policy, including high-visibility safety clothing

- Ability to travel between sites as required

- Current driver licence (essential for role mobility)

- Test and Tag Certificate (desirable/advantageous)

- Physical capability to:n n
- Lift up to 20kg

- Work in ceiling or confined spaces

- Stand and walk for extended periods across multiple sites
