REFOCUS is seeking a Foster Care DevelopmentCoordinator to join our Foster Care Services team and help grow a diverse,skilled, and responsive foster care workforce.
n
This role sits within the Foster Care Recruitmentservice and is responsible for guiding prospective foster carers from theirinitial enquiry through to approval. You will play a key role in strengtheningfamily-based care options for children and young people by recruiting,assessing, preparing, and supporting foster carers throughout their journey.
n
Working collaboratively with Child Safety, communityorganisations, referral partners, and internal teams, you will help ensurechildren and young people have access to safe, nurturing,
and culturallyresponsive care environments.

About the role
n
As a Foster Care Development Coordinator, you will:
n
n
- Promotefoster care through community engagement activities, presentations, andrecruitment events
n
- Developstrong relationships with community organisations, businesses, andreferral partners
n
- Respondto enquiries from prospective foster carers and support them through therecruitment process
n
- Conductinitial screening, household safety assessments, and comprehensive fostercarer assessments
n
- Prepareevidence-based assessment reports and recommendations
n
- Deliverpre-service training, orientation programs, and foster carer education
n
- Buildthe knowledge, confidence, and capability of prospective carers
n
- Collaboratewith Child Safety, Placement Support Services, Kinship FindingPractitioners, and internal support teams
n
- Supportculturally safe, strengths-based, and trauma-informed practice
n
- Maintainaccurate documentation and contribute to service reporting and qualityimprovement activities
n
n
Pay and conditions
n
Hourly pay rates range from:
n
Level 1 PPT3 $30.90 per hour, up to Level 3 PPT4 $52.93 perhour
n
Classification level and pay rate are assessed anddetermined based on qualifications, experience, and demonstrated capability.
n

- Isan effective presenter, educator, and facilitator
n
- Demonstratesexcellent organisational, communication, and report-writing skills
n
- Valuescultural safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
n
- Iscommitted to child-centred, trauma-informed, and strengths-based practice
n
n
Qualifications and experience
n
n
- Tertiaryqualification in Social Work, Human Services, Behavioural Science,Community Services, or a related discipline
n
- Experiencein child protection, out-of-home care, or related human services
n
- Demonstratedexperience in assessment, community engagement, workforce development, orsimilar fields
n
- Experiencedelivering presentations, education programs, or group facilitation
n
- Strongwritten communication and report-writing skills
n
n
Highly desirable:
n
n
- Experiencerecruiting, assessing, or supporting foster carers
n
- Knowledgeof the Child Protection Act 1999 (Qld)
n
- Experienceworking with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
n
n
