Job Description

Responsibilities

- Develop, maintain, and support applications/scripts in a UNIX/Linux environment
n
- Write productive, optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting
n
- Perform database tuning, query optimization, and performance analysis
n
- Automate routine tasks using shell scripting (Bash/KornShell)
n
- Monitor batch jobs and troubleshoot production issues
n
- Work closely with application teams, DBAs, and business stakeholders
n
- Manage file processing, job scheduling, and system-level configurations
n
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance standards
n
- Participate in code reviews and deployment processes
n

In Agile/Scrum Teams Required Skills

n

n
- Strong command-line proficiency
n
- Shell scripting (Bash / KornShell)
n
- Experience with cron jobs, file system management, process handling
n

n

SQL / Database

n

n




- Strong SQL skills (joins, subqueries, indexing, stored procedures)
n
- Experience with databases like Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
n
- Query tuning and performance optimization

Other Technical Skills

- Knowledge of ETL processes and data workflows

- Experience with scheduling tools (AutoSys, Control-M, etc.)

- Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts

- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, SVN)
