MIGAS Apprentices and Trainees – Graceville QLD

Partnered with our client Merbain Homes, we are looking for a Carpentry Apprentice wanting to get their hands on the tools and learn all aspects of residential construction, while completing a CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry.

n

This position is open to fantastic 3rd and 4th year apprentices with relevant work experience in carpentry. Mature-aged candidates are encouraged to apply.

n

This position is full time. Head office is based in Graceville, with travel to multiple residential sites around Brisbane required.

n

You will be mentored by industry professionals while completing a blend of on-the-job training and theory coursework and working all over the Brisbane region.

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

n

- Assisting with the construction of various pre-cast concrete products, including panels, bridge beams, structural foundations, floor slabs and retaining walls
n
- Framing, fixing, cladding and finishing carpentry work
n
- Assembly and dismantling of formwork
n
- Reading plans and technical drawings
n
- Working from measurements
n
- Using carpentry tools and equipment, Nail gun, saws, levels and drills
n
- Handling carpentry materials
n

About You

n

The successful candidate will be reliable, have excellent communication skills, and be ready and willing to undertake physical work in an indoor and outdoor setting.

n

You will be willing to travel, work in the hot sun, and not afraid of working heights.

n

In addition to these qualities, you will:

n

n
- Have completed a minimum of year 10 with good results in English and Mathematics
n
- Have a Manual driver's licence
n
- Have a construction White Card (or be willing to get one)
n
- Be safety-minded and work safely
n
- Be well presented
n
- Have excellent listening skills and able to follow instructions
n
