About the opportunity

NSW Health Pathology are looking for a talented Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Cytogenetics section within the Molecular Medicine Department on a temporary basis. Based at John Hunter Hospital, we are looking for highly motivated team players.
n
The NSW Health Pathology Molecular Medicine Department is located a short drive from Newcastle, on the John Hunter Hospital Campus, with beautiful surroundings and outdoor areas. The team you will be working with is dedicated, committed and positive, and strive for excellence to provide a quality Genomics service to NSW communities.

What you'll be doing
n
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a highly sophisticated Genomics Laboratory. The Cytogenetics section within the Molecular Medicine Department performs SNP-microarray, FISH and karyotyping on a range of samples. In this position, you will be responsible for delivering a range of operational laboratory activities including the coordination and provisions of scientific and technical training and the ongoing review, development and quality management of laboratory practices to ensure compliance with operational standards and procedures, quality standards and continual process improvement.
