Public Sector Peopleare working with a Local Council, who are seeking a Local Laws Investigation Officer - Animal Management on a 6 month temp contract with the prospect to extend or go direct as an employee with council

What you will be doing:

n

n
- Carry out site inspections and interview alleged offenders and witnesses of offences to gather evidence
n
- Communicate with community members to provide updates and advise of outcomes of investigations.
n
- Accurately interpret legislation, apply to facts and evidence of matters under investigation, and prepare quality correspondence utilising templates, reports and records.
n
- Draft briefings on compliance investigations to management and Councillors
n
- Utilise effective interpersonal,



oral and written communication skills, with the ability to consult, communicate and problem solve effectively with all levels of internal and external customers.
n

About you:

n

n
- Available to start as soon as possible
n
- Background in Law Enforcement is highly encouraged to apply
n
- Highly developed written and oral communication skills including the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships.
n
- Ability to negotiate and apply conflict resolution skills to influence outcomes at all levels.
n
- Proven ability to conduct inspections and investigations on a community level, and produce effective outcomes within the parameters of relevant Legislation and Council policies.
n
- Experience in development compliance, animal management or Town Planning is desirable but not essential.
n
- Cert IV in Investigations, WHS or relevant experience
