We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to lead our store operations and drive business success. If you're a proactive leader with a passion for retail and strong organisational skills, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead, mentor and motivate the retail team to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve business objectives.
n
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the store, ensuring productive and effective business performance.
n
- Drive sales growth by monitoring performance, setting targets and implementing strategies to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
n
- Determine product mix, stock levels and service standards to meet customer demand and maximise sales opportunities.
n
- Monitor inventory levels, purchasing patterns and stock turnover to optimise stock availability and minimise stock losses.
n
- Coordinate stock ordering, receiving, stock takes and replenishment of aquarium livestock, pet products and related merchandise.
n
- Maintain high standards of visual merchandising, pricing accuracy and overall store presentation in accordance with company standards.
n
- Manage cash handling procedures, daily reconciliations and other store financial transactions.
n
- Prepare staff rosters and effectively allocate resources to meet operational requirements.
n
- Recruit, train, supervise and develop team members, fostering a positive, productive and high-performing workplace culture.
n
- Analyse sales reports, customer trends and local market conditions to identify opportunities for business growth and improved customer satisfaction.

- Plan and implement promotional activities, marketing initiatives and seasonal campaigns to increase sales and customer engagement.
n
- Manage supplier relationships, negotiate purchasing arrangements where appropriate and ensure timely supply of quality products.
n
- Handle customer enquiries, complaints and escalated issues professionally to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
n
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and all relevant regulations relating to the sale, handling and welfare of aquarium fish, reptiles and companion animals.

- Maintain accurate records relating to inventory, sales performance, purchasing and store operations.
n
- Identify operational risks and implement effective solutions to ensure smooth and efficient store operations.
n
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience and overall store performance.

What We're Looking For

- Minimum two years' experience in a retail management or supervisory role.
n
- Strong leadership, people management and team development skills.
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
n
- Demonstrated ability to analyse sales data and make sound commercial decisions.
n
- Strong organisational and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
n
- A customer-focused mindset with effective problem-solving abilities.
n
- Ability to work weekends, public holidays and additional hours when required.
n
- Knowledge of aquarium livestock, ornamental fish, reptiles or the pet industry is highly desirable.
