DMO – Non‐Procedural –MP Year 1‐6: $481,620 – $602,976 p.a.*
n DMO – Procedural (Obstetrics and Anaesthetics) –MP Year 1‐3: $550,858 – $602,976 p.a.
n Rates as of 3 September 2025. Salary includes base, PD allowance and 12% superannuation; subject to assessment of qualifications and experience.

About the Roles
n
In this role, you will provide comprehensive medical and community health services to the Carnarvon/Exmouth Health Service and remote communities. District Medical Officers are experienced clinicians practising with high clinical autonomy, supervising junior staff, and maintaining procedural practice in anaesthetics, obstetrics, and related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Lead clinical teams and mentor junior medical staff.
n
- Respond to emergency presentations and provide acute inpatient care.
n
- Provide antenatal and postnatal care via weekly clinics.
n
- Respond to obstetric emergencies and collaborate with the hospital team.
n
- Deliver safe and effective anaesthesia for surgical and emergency procedures.
n
- Manage pre‐operative assessments, intra‐operative care and post‐operative recovery.
n
- Provide sedation and pain management services as required.
n
- Perform on‐call duties according to role classification.
n
- Utilise telehealth technologies to extend care to remote areas.
n

The Successful Candidates Will
n
n
- Be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
n
- Hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine, or equivalent experience.
n
- Possess formal postgraduate qualification in anaesthetics or obstetrics, or equivalent extensive experience.
n
- Maintain appropriate Emergency Department skill proficiency (ACLS, APLS, EMST, GCCA) within the last triennium and evidence of continued professional development.
n
