Salary: $80,000 to $83,000 per annum

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Indian Cuisine Head Chef to join our team. If you have a passion for Indian cooking, especially with tandoor and curry dishes, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities:

n

Planning and organising the preparation and cooking of meals in accordance with the restaurant's menu and service requirements.

n

Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, including traditional Indian cuisine, tandoori items, curries, and regional specialties.

n

Estimating food and labour costs and assisting with the efficient ordering of food supplies and kitchen stock.

n

Monitoring the quality, taste, presentation, and consistency of dishes at all stages of preparation and service.

n

Overseeing daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking processes, portion control,



and meal service.

n

Discussing food preparation issues, menu planning, and kitchen operations with the Manager/Owner, kitchen staff, and waiting staff.

n

Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising kitchen staff on appropriate cooking procedures and presentation standards.

n

Ensuring all food is prepared and cooked in accordance with hygiene, food safety, and workplace health and safety requirements.

n

Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.

n

Working collaboratively with kitchen and waiting staff to ensure smooth and timely food service.

n

Assisting with inventory control, stock rotation, and proper storage of food supplies.

n

Selecting, supervising, and training kitchen staff where required.

n

Freezing, preserving, and storing food items appropriately for future use where required.

n

Qualifications and Requirements:

n

Minimum 3 year of experience as an Indian Cuisine Chef.

n

Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery.

n

Diploma in Hospitality Management.

n

Experience in Tandoor and Curry cooking.

n

Must be available to work weekends.

n

Strong communication and teamwork skills.
