Geotechnical Engineer wanted in our well established Sunshine Coast office for immediate start. We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer (2+ years' experience).

Complete project involvement in a small firm doing big things

Mix between site investigations and office based assignments

Projects include landslide/slope stability assessments, soft soils, high rise, bridges, and highways

The Role

n

Plan and undertaking site investigation fieldwork, including supervising borehole drilling, test pits, instrumentation, site mapping, and in situ testing

n

Technical report preparation,analysis, and design with assistance from senior engineers/geologists

n

Construction inspections with guidance from senior team members

n

Slope stability risk assessment and numerical modelling

n

Mentoring and training from senior staff and recognised industry professionals

n

Settlement analysis including soft clay consolidation studies and preload design

n

Design of temporary works

n

Assist senior staff with preparation of fee proposals/tenders

n

Investigation and management of acid sulfate soils, contaminated land, wastewater and groundwater

n

The Candidate

n

Tertiary qualifications in civil/geotechnical engineering

n

High level written and communication skills

n

Excellent computer skills, preferred software:Microsoft Office, SlopeW, Settle 3D, AutoCAD, Plaxis, gINT

n





Experience with planning and undertaking site investigations along with slope stability and/or soft clay settlement assessments would be an advantage

n

Strong project and commercial awareness, including managing scope, budgets, programme and risk on complex transport project

n

Appreciation of engineering risk and understanding of commercial risk

n

Ability to provide clear, practical geotechnical advice to multidisciplinary teams, contractors and clients throughout design and construction phases

n

You will be working primarily on the Sunshine Coast on projects including infrastructure projects, canal developments, multi-level apartment buildings, and residential subdivisions.
