A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their growing business in Newcastle NSW.
n
They work across refurbishments, repairs, remediation, demolition, upgrades, HVAC etc. on buildings and civil works as well. Will be running projects from smaller up to $5m. Projects are generally Industrial, Defence, Marine or Commercial in nature, experience with similar projects in these sectors or similar across buildings and infrastructure will be an advantage.

Years of experience: 5 years +
n
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
n
n
- Conduct onsite HSE and quality inductions with all onsite staff / subcontractors
n
- Complete daily site diary entries
n
- Review and manage key project issues
n
- Liaise with statutory bodies ensuring all relevant notifications are made
n
- Ensure site compound and amenities are established and maintained
n
- Organise all site inspections with clients, authorities and consultants
n
- Assist Project Manager with preparing scopes of work
n
- Understand head and subcontractor contracts, especially in relation to timeframes
n
- Produce and manage defect lists for subcontractors prior to finishing works
n
n
Qualifications and Requirements:
n
n
- Trade or building related Qualification
n
- Minimum 5 years' experience in site supervision of construction projects including planning, programming and management of onsite staff / subcontractors
n
- Construction Safety Induction (White) card
n
- Senior First Aid Certificate
n
- Desirable – Certificate IV in Occupational Health & Safety
n
- Sound knowledge of legislation, regulations and standards relating to building sites
n
- Proven ability to lead and motivate subcontractors
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications
n
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
n
- Australian Citizenship ideally to work on Defence projects
n
n
