Genis Steel Leading industrial and residential steel manufacturer located in Melbourne is currently seeking to employ a qualified and experienced Metal Machinist to join the manufacturing department in Somerton VIC. The successful candidate will need to undertake and possess:

n

n
- Study and read drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method and sequence of operations and machine settings
n
- Fit fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts to produce machines and equipment
n
- Setting guides, stops and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools in machines and presses, and setting controls for machines
n
- Forming metal stock and casting to fine tolerances using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane,



bore and drill metal
n
- Cutting, threading, bending and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines
n
- Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machine, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment
n

Skills & Abilities

n

n
- Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical trade
n
- Ideally have a minimum of 3 years' experience in a related field
n
- Experience with beams lines and plasma plate cutting
n

n

Salary range is $70,000 -$85,000 commensurate with experience Hours: Fulltime Applications open on 8th July 2026 and closes on 8th August 2026. If you are interested in this role
