About the role

As a Business Analyst (Team Lead) at Baseplan Software Pty Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our innovative software solutions. In this full-time position, hybrid role (our office is in Thornleigh, Sydney) you will lead a team of talented business analysts to deliver exceptional results for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Lead the end-to-end business analysis process across customer and internal projects.
n
- Elicit, document, and validate business requirements using appropriate techniques (workshops, interviews, process mapping, etc.).
n
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications, user stories, workflows, and acceptance criteria.
n
- Support backlog refinement and prioritisation in collaboration with Product, Delivery, and customer stakeholders.
n
- Ensure requirements align with customer outcomes, product direction, and delivery feasibility.
n

Domain Knowledge

n

n
- Work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure solutions support financial accuracy and operational reporting.
n
- Understand financial workflows and data structures within our ERP and rental management solutions, ensuring requirements support accurate billing, invoicing, costing, and reporting.
n
- Demonstrated experience working with financial/ERP systems is essential for this role.
n
- Collaborate with Finance SMEs to validate assumptions, clarify financial rules, and ensure compliant and accurate system behaviour.
n
- Support business case inputs by identifying impacts, dependencies, and operational considerations - without owning formal financial modelling.

Leadership & Team Development

- Lead, coach,



and mentor Business Analysts to ensure consistent quality and approach.
n
- Provide guidance on BA best practices, documentation standards, and stakeholder management.
n
- Contribute to team resourcing, workload planning, and delivery coordination.
n
- Promote collaboration across Engineering, QA, Professional Services and Customer teams.
n
- Lead, mentor, and support Business Analysts to ensure consistent, high‐quality analysis across projects.
n
- Set clear individual goals, review and conduct quarterly and year‐end performance discussions.
n
- Provide coaching, development planning, and opportunities for skill growth.
n
- Promote collaboration, best‐practice standards, and continuous improvement across the analysis function.
n
- Act as a key point of contact for customer stakeholders during analysis and delivery phases.
n
- Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate progress, risks, and dependencies clearly.
n
- Support customer training, process improvement discussions, and post-go-live reviews when required.

Process Improvement

- Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities in customer processes and internal delivery workflows.
n
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across documentation, analysis methods, and implementation processes,



in particular ensuring that AI tools and workflow automation are used where appropriate to maximise quality and

What we're looking for

n

n
- 5+ years of experience as a business analyst, preferably within the Information & Communication Technology industry
n
- Proven track record of leading and managing a team of business analysts
n
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems
n
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical information into business terms
n
- Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies, such as process mapping, data modelling, and requirements engineering
n
- Familiarity with agile software development practices and project management techniques
n
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as Information Systems or Business Administration
n
- Australian work authorisation is required for this position.
