The Thomastown facility specialises in manufacturing cable accessories used to connect medium and high-voltage electrical cables for substations, renewable energy projects and heavy infrastructure applications.

About the Role

n

We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Cable Assemblers to join the production team on an ongoing casual basis.

n

Working from detailed assembly diagrams, you will assemble and prepare high-voltage cable connections using specialised hand tools and assembly jigs. This is a precision assembly role requiring excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail rather than heavy manual labour.

n

The work is performed at ergonomic assembly benches and jigs designed to minimise fatigue while maintaining high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

n

- Assemble medium and high-voltage cable accessories to detailed work instructions and engineering drawings.
n
- Strip and prepare electrical cables using wire strippers and specialist cutting tools.
n
- Join and terminate cable components accurately to specification.
n
- Perform quality inspections throughout the assembly process.
n
- Operate safely within company quality and manufacturing procedures.
n
- Maintain a clean and organised work area.
n
- Meet production and quality targets.
n

Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in cable assembly, electrical assembly or precision manufacturing is advantageous.
n
- Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
n
- Ability to accurately follow diagrams, assembly drawings and work instructions.
n
- Experience using hand tools including wire strippers, cutters and measuring equipment.
n
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
n
- Reliable with a robust work ethic.
n
- Ability to work as part of a team.
n
