Shire Skin Cancer Doctors is seeking a Casual Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and qualified team in Sutherland, NSW. This is a casual position offering flexibility whilst providing essential administrative and customer service support to our busy skin cancer clinic, potential for permanent employment as we grow.

As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations and delivering an exceptional patient experience. Key responsibilities

- Greet patients warmly upon arrival and manage the check-in process efficiently
n
- Answer incoming telephone calls and direct enquiries to appropriate staff members
n
- Schedule and manage patient appointments using clinic management software - Best Practice preferrable
n
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with privacy legislation
n
- Manage patient documentation, including consent forms and medical histories
n
- Process patient payments and manage financial transactions accurately
n
- Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception area
n
- Provide general information to patients regarding procedures, appointments and clinic policies
n
- Assist with administrative tasks as required to support clinic operations
n
- Liaise with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow throughout the clinic
n

What we're looking for

- Previous experience working as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role
n
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in a busy environment
n
- Proficiency with medical practice management software and general computer skills
n
- Experience with private & Medicare billing
n
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
n
- Organisational ability with strong attention to detail
n
- Understanding of patient privacy obligations and confidentiality requirements
n
- Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
n
- A genuine passion for supporting patients and contributing to quality healthcare delivery
n
- Flexibility to work casual hours, covering sick leave & annual leave
n
- Current knowledge of medical reception best practices would be advantageous
