u&u; Recruitment Partners is proud to partner with JBS Australia to recruit a newly created Head of Payroll Operations. This is a unique opportunity to lead the strategic direction of payroll for an organisation employing approximately 15,000 people across Australia.

Created to elevate the payroll function, this role is focused on transformation rather than transaction. You'll lead payroll strategy, governance, systems optimisation and continuous improvement while acting as a key stakeholder in the implementation of UKG Pro.

n

With an experienced payroll team managing day-to-day operations, you'll have the opportunity to influence how payroll is delivered through smarter systems, stronger controls and more productive processes.

The Role

n

Reporting to the Head of People Systems & Analytics, you'll provide strategic leadership across payroll operations, ensuring a compliant, efficient and future-focused payroll function.

n

Your focus will include:

n

n
- Leading payroll strategy, governance and operational excellence;
n
- Driving process improvement, automation and system optimisation;
n
- Strengthening compliance, financial controls and audit readiness;
n
- Partnering with IR, Finance, People & Culture and operational leaders to improve payroll outcomes; and
n
- Leading an established team including a Payroll Team Leader, Payroll Accountant and approximately eight Payroll Officers.

About You

n

You'll be an experienced payroll leader with the ability to influence change in a large, complex organisation.

n

You'll bring:

n

n
- Significant leadership experience across high-volume complex payroll operations;
n
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements, with an understanding of New Zealand payroll;
n
- Experience leading payroll transformation,



systems implementation and continuous improvement initiatives;
n
- Experience with SAP and/or Kronos will be highly regarded as JBS continues its implementation of UKG Pro;
n
- Strong stakeholder engagement and leadership capability; and
n
- A passion for improving systems, processes and governance.
