About the role

n

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (5+ years) to take ownership of complex heavy vehicle performance and compliance projects.

n

This is a senior technical role within a specialist consultancy. You will lead simulation and analysis work, engage directly with clients and regulators, contribute to ADR and import approval processes, and mentor junior engineers.

n

You will be expected to exercise independent engineering judgement and deliver high-quality outcomes across modelling, testing and regulatory documentation.

n

Responsibilities

n

Lead performance assessments of heavy vehicle designs using simulation tools

n

Deliver route assessment and regulatory engineering projects

n

Participate in and oversee field testing programs (braking, structural, noise, dynamic stability)

n

Conduct structural analysis of vehicle chassis and components (FEA)

n





Prepare and review technical reports for clients and regulators

n

Contribute to ADR compliance and vehicle import approval processes

n

Support and mentor graduate engineers

n

Maintain and improve quality assurance processes

n

Contribute to internal software and tool development where appropriate

n

Requirements

n

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)

n

Minimum 5 years' relevant engineering experience

n

Demonstrated ability to deliver engineering projects independently

n

Solid analytical and problem-solving capability

n

Excellent report writing and technical communication skills

n

Experience engaging with clients or external stakeholders

n

Full Australian work rights

n

Highly Desirable

n

Experience within heavy vehicle or transport engineering

n

Knowledge of Australian Design Rules and heavy vehicle standards

n

Multi-body dynamics and/or FEA experience

n

Field testing experience

n

Chartered status or working toward Chartered

n

Specialist consultancy with strong technical depth

n

Direct engagement with industry and regulators

n
