Diesel Mechanic

Salary: $65 – $75 per hour + superannuation

About the Role

n

We are seeking experienced, motivated and driven Diesel Mechanics to join our clients team in Carnarvon, WA, supporting workshop, field and site-based operations. The successful applicants will have demonstrated experience working across a broad range of commercial, civil, mining and maritime equipment.

About You

n

You will have experience working with a variety of equipment, including:

n
- Commercial light and heavy vehicles
n
- On-highway road transport and related equipment
n
- Civil and mining machinery, including excavators, dozers, graders and loaders
n
- Cranes, including Frannas and crawler cranes
n
- Ancillary equipment, including generators
n
- Hydraulics and electrical components (preferred)
n





Key Responsibilities

n
- Perform mechanical diagnostics on a range of machinery and equipment
n
- Carry out overhauls of transmissions, engines, steering systems, gearboxes and differential systems
n
- Read and interpret service manuals and procedures
n
- Use service inspection forms to diagnose and identify defective components
n
- Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
n
- Attend breakdowns and carry out repairs
n
- Use diagnostic scan tools to identify mechanical faults
n
- Conduct inspections for roadworthy verification
n
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and safety
n
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
n
- Work independently and as part of a team
n

Required Qualifications & Licences

n
- Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
n
- HR/MR Driver's Licence (preferred but not essential)
n
- Forklift Licence (preferred)
n
- Unlimited working rights in Australia
n
