Mechanical Fitter – Tunnel Ventilation Systems

About the Role

n

We are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to support the installation of tunnel ventilation systems, including large axial fans, attenuators, dampers, and associated mechanical equipment.

n

You will be part of a high-performing site team delivering complex mechanical installations in a live rail infrastructure environment.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

Install and assemble mechanical equipment including fans, ducting, dampers, and support structures

n

Interpret drawings, specifications, and installation procedures

n

Carry out alignment, bolting, and mechanical fit-up activities

n

Work closely with Supervisors and Engineers to ensure quality outcomes

n





Perform pre-start checks and ensure tools/equipment are fit for purpose

n

Adhere to all safety procedures and project requirements

n

Participate in QA/QC processes including inspections

n

About You

n

Trade qualified Mechanical Fitter or equivalent

n

Experience in heavy mechanical installation projects (ideally infrastructure or industrial)

n

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

n

Experience working in construction or rail/tunnel environments (highly regarded)

n

Strong focus on safety and quality

n

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

n

White Card (mandatory)

n
